The master of arts in teaching (M.A.T.) degree is an Educator Preparation Program (EPP) designed to prepare college graduates and career changers for initial licensure through a content specific program led by experts in the field of education.
The Master of Arts in Teaching Program is based on the assumption that, through a curriculum carefully balanced in theory and practice, participants can acquire and refine the knowledge and skills needed for teaching general and/or special education students. The program is completed with a yearlong student teaching experience. Traditional interns are supervised by a member of the Goucher faculty in addition to a mentor teacher through partnership with a Professional Development School (PDS). Conditional teachers are partnered with a Goucher faculty member to enhance their skills and improve student outcomes in the classroom.
Our M.A. in teaching offers engaged faculty and lasting relationships. If you have any questions, please contact the program director, Kristina Maxwell, at kristina.maxwell@qiju123.com.
